FAQS

What kind of photographer are you?

My style has been described as candid, photo-journalistic, evoking, and authentic. I am a documentary portrait photographer on a mission to capture and celebrate families as they truly are. I light up when I photograph kids being kids and parents loving on their littles'. Each family is unique and I strive to preserve every family I document in beautiful images that speak true to who they are. I never force smiles or contort my clients into stiff poses… (in fact, there is no posing or interfering at all on my part!) During a session, I like to imagine myself as an artistic family historian. My hope is to help you forget the camera and simply enjoy a normal day with the people who make your heart light up the most.

Where will my session be held?

Often sessions are at or around your home. But we can go anywhere and do anything that is special to you and your family. A day at the lake you frequent, a Saturday morning making pancakes, a walk to the park… Together we will choose your perfect location and activity. Newborn sessions are held in your home.

How long will my session be?

All sessions are 2 hours long. If you have an event or would like more hours of coverage, you can request more time for additional cost.

What will my session be like?

Laid back, real, and hopefully a fun and stress free time documenting some of the most important people in your life. I am not a fan of fake smiles. If I capture a smile, it will be because you genuinely smiled and felt like doing so and not because I asked you to.

I’m not interested in fake or forced anything. I am simply here to document you, your family, and what this stage of life you’re in looks like.

I’ll be there to follow you around while you and your family do your thing. At home or on a day out.

Preparation for a session on your end is super minimal: No need to tidy the house, coordinate outfits or getting your hair done.

And if this stage of life currently looks like toddlers who proudly dress themselves and sticky countertops… know that I’ve seen it all and I’m right there with you. I promise there is beauty to be found in your simple, everyday, (and even) messy moments.

Having a spotless house, matching outfits, or perfectly behaved children is (luckily!) not a prerequisite for creating beautiful photographs. Let me show you just how beautiful and wonderful this little chaotic corner of your universe really is.

What should I wear?

Up to you. Normally I’d say, avoid logos and words on your clothing… but otherwise, I want you to be you! Be comfortable and be completely yourself.

How far out are you booked?

I am a full time stay at home mom and only shoot part time right now, so my availability can sometimes book quickly. It’s never too early to book, but know that I also keep a little wiggle room for any unexpected newborn sessions. Try to contact me while you are still pregnant to schedule your newborn session.

Will I get the digital photos from my session And How many are included?

You betcha’. Photographs grow in value over time and become family treasures. I want you to have a safe place to keep and access yours forever; which is why I offer a gallery of high resolution digitals in every photo collection for you to download instantly and conveniently.

How many and what images I deliver depends on your photo collection choice. You get to choose your favorite images and what you want to walk away with. Galleries are delivered 3 weeks after your session date with options to purchase prints and an album if you desire.

HOW MUCH DOES ALL OF THIS COST?

To reserve your spot in TSP’s calendar there is a required $150 session fee. It pays for the work to organize your shoot, covers time and talent on the day of the session, and pays for the professional editing of your images. To best serve you on the date of your session means that I am turning away other clients, so once booked, the session fee is non refundable.

After the shoot, you'll receive a complimentary slideshow of your photos to get a feel of the story and moments I’ve captured for you. You'll then be able to purchase one of 3 photo collections.

Each collection comes with a complimentary print credit that you can use in the online shop that will be connected to your personal photo gallery.

Total cost and process for sessions can be found here and newborn, baby, or maternity sessions here.
